'redbag' was a major youth arts project exploring environmental issues which culminated at the Mackay Arts Festival.

The 'redbag' project came out of the interest and commitment of young people involved at Crossroad Arts, who wished to combine their interest in multiple artforms with their environmental concerns.

‘redbag’ demonstrated that art has an important role to play in addressing environmental issues by creating a new work for the Mackay Festival of Arts that was led (written, directed and performed) by young people and supported by mentors through a professional multi-arts company (Crossroad Arts).
